Systemic manifestations
The systemic manifestations of rheumatoid arthritis include:
- oedema
- rheumatoid factor positive nodules
- myositis; muscle wasting may also be due to nerve entrapment
- peripheral entrapment neuropathies due to tenosynovitis:
- carpal tunnel syndrome
- cubital tunnel syndrome
- radial tunnel syndrome
- cutaneous vasculitis
- palpable purpura
- osteoporosis
- AA amyloidosis, particularly of the kidneys
