The most common side-effects of sumatriptan are:

  • reaction at the injection site after subcutaneous administration - flushing, heat, tingling
  • neck pain with stiffness

Less common side-effects include:

  • in 3-5% of patients there is chest tightness, heaviness, pressure, or pain.
