Ink test

The ink test helps show the burrows of scabies. Paint some indian ink over the suspected burrow, leave for a few minutes, and then wash off with an alcohol swab. Any burrow will be immediately apparent as a characteristic dark, zigzag line running across and away from the papule (1).
