Epidemiology
Kaposi's sarcoma is seen more frequently in:
- individuals with AIDS:
- largely restricted to homosexual and bisexual groups
- rare in patients who acquired HIV intravenously
- individuals with immunosuppression for reasons other than HIV infection
- elderly males of Jewish or Mediterranean origin - classical form
- in African populations the disease may be manifested as either the classical, locally aggressive or lymphadenopathic forms
