Epidemiology
Keratoacanthoma has the following epidemiological features:
- race:
- more common in caucasians
- rarer in African-Americans
- rarer than squamous cell carcinoma but difficult to quantify accurately as reporting bias towards the latter
- age of onset typically greater than 60 years
- occurs more often in males than females (ratio 2-3:1)
