No patient with this autosomal dominant condition should have a general anaesthetic in the community
If hyperthermia occurs, admit immediately to ITU for dantrolene 1mg/kg
All families known to have this gene should be educated and offered genetic testing
There is a National Hyperthermia Unit at: St James' University Hospital, Beckett St, Leeds LS9 7TF
