Panniculus carnosus
Panniculus carnosus are fine, flat muscles within the hypodermis. Their origin is in the deep fascia of bone and they insert into superficial skin.
In Man, panniculus carnosus is seen as:
- scalp and facial muscles
- hand muscle palmaris brevis
- subareolar nipple muscle
- dartos muscle of the scrotum
