^MCV + reduced folate +/- anaemia
This picture suggests small bowel pathology and malabsorption.
Investigations should include:
- jejunal biopsy to exclude coeliac disease
- stool culture and microscopy for Giardia or tropical sprue
- small bowel enema and radiography to exclude Crohn's disease, jejunal diverticuloses
