Aetiology
The aetiology of polydactyly is poorly understood. Some forms are inherited in an autosomal recessive manner. There are associations with a number of syndromes including:
- trisomy 13
- Biemond Syndrome
- Lawrence-Moon-Bardet-Biedl Syndrome
