This includes:
- irritant dermatitis - weeping, erythematous lesions confined to nappy area; body folds spared
- seborrhoeic dermatitis - erythema and scaling of nappy area; often with lesions of scalp, face and axillae
- candidiasis - macerated, erythematous lesions; pustulation and satellite lesions adjacent to nappy area
- dermatophyte infections
- intertrigo (1)
