Rare causes
Rare causes of Charcot joints include:
- yaws
- cord lesion, e.g. trauma, meningomyelocoele, subacute combined degeneration of the cord
- congenital neuropathies, e.g. Charcot-Marie-Tooth, Refsum's disease
- repeated intra-articular injections of steroids.
