Management
The management of Von Gierke disease aims to prevent episodes of fasting hypoglycaemia, keeping blood glucose above 4 mmol/l (1).
The most effective approaches include:
- continuous glucose infusion:
- intravenous
- via nasogastric tube
- via gastrostomy tube
- regular ingestion of uncooked corn starch
