Deep dermal or full thickness burn
Deep dermal or full thickness burns are likely to require surgical intervention, for example excision and skin grafting. Regular reassessment is vital. The advice of the local burns unit should be sought.
In the interim they can be dressed with a non-adherent plastic film dressing or a hydrocolloid.
