Severe hypothermia
Severe hypothermia is treated with:
- warm humidified oxygen - 42 to 46øC
- warm i.v. fluids - 43øC
- peritoneal lavage with warmed fluids - 43øC
- arrest - open chest massage with mediastinal irrigation or femoral-femoral bypass
The prognosis is more guarded.
