Neuroblastoma is the most common extracranial solid tumour in children in North America and Europe: (1,2)

  • it accounts for 8% of all paediatric tumours
  • the reported incidence is 1 in 10,000 live births
  • it is identified in more than 1 in 300 autopsies of children dying before 3 months of age
  • 50% are found before 2 years of age; 90% before 9 years
