  • Increase dose by 125mg monthly until 500mg daily or clinical response acheived
  • If inadequate response the dose may be increased to 750mg daily or higher
  • Stop drug if treatment continued for 6 months without positive response
  • Take before food and do not take oral iron concomitantly
