Major risk factors for osteoporosis
- Previous fragility fracture
- Untreated hypogonadism (premature menopause, secondary ammenorrhea, primary hypogonadism in women, hypogonadism in men)
- Glucocorticoids (7.5mg orednisolone daily for > 6 months)
- Disease associated with increased prevalence of osteoporosis (e.g. GI disease, Chronic liver disease, hyperparathyroidism, hyperthyroidism)
- Radiological osteopenia
