  • Fractures of the nasal bones are common. They may be sustained from the front, with depression of the nasal bones, or from the side, resulting in deviation.
  • They may be:
    • simple - skin and mucosa intact
    • compound - cartilage and/or bone exposed
  • Always consider the possibility of non-accidental injury (1).
