    • slow running or performance pace

    • use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents (can inhibit free water clearance during exercise- advised against use)
  • event-related
    • high availability of drinking fluids
    • >4 hours exercise duration
    • unusually hot environmental conditions
    • extreme cold temperature
