Mild acute pancreatitis

The patient with mild pancreatitis looks well with no systemic features and minimal abdominal tenderness.

However, the pain may be considerable. It can be felt in a variety of places in the abdomen, most commonly centrally and in the epigastrium or right hypochondrium, but also in the left hypochondrium, and through to the back.
