Management/follow-up after H. pylori eradication therapy
This varies between H.pylori positive duodenal and gastric ulcers.
- duodenal ulcers
- should need no further treatment once successful eradication has been completed
- should need no further treatment once successful eradication has been completed
- gastric ulcers
- require a further eight weeks of acid suppressive therapy after successful eradication
After triple therapy, maintenance therapy should only be required in a minority of patients, including those who have refractory ulceration and who have a history of complications (1).
