Morphology
Morphologically, mixed gallstones are:
- either hard and facetted - where they have developed in contact - or irregular, "mulberry"-shaped and softer
- multiple stones, often with several "generations" found together
- a wide range of colours - near white through yellow and green to black
- usually radiolucent but 10% are radiopaque
