Palpation of the pancreas
Pancreatic masses may be palpable in the epigastrium and behind the umbilicus.
A pancreatic pseudocyst is characteristically tense and rounded. It may be very large. It is fixed and does not descend with inspiration. It may mimic an aneurysm and may transmit aortic pulsations.
A pancreatic carcinoma is rarely palpable.
