Clinical features
Clinical features of perforation of a diverticular abscess include:
- a history of diverticular disease
- acute abdomen
- if the perforation is large then the patient may present with widespread faecal peritonitis or septicaemia. If the perforation is small then the patient may present with the symptoms and signs of acute diverticulitis.
