Other causes of pneumonia include:
- allergic:
- Stevens-Johnson syndrome, after erythema multiforme
- collagen-vascular disease, for example polyarteritis nodosa
- chemical agents:
- irritant liquids, e.g. vomitus
- irritant gases, e.g. ammonia, sulphur dioxide, oxides of nitrogen
- physical causes, e.g. irradiation
