Pyruvate kinase
Pyruvate kinase is an enzyme of the glycolytic pathway that converts phosphoenolpyruvate into pyruvate. It is a large enzyme with several subunits and binding sites; correspondingly, it is the target for regulation by several molecules.
It exists as 3 isoenzymes. The L isoenzyme predominates in hepatocytes; the M isoenzyme predominates in muscle.
