Referral criteria from primary care - ulcerative colitis (UC)
Referral criteria from primary care - ulcerative colitis:
- if patient has severe colitis then should be admitted to hospital for assessment and treatment
- if a patient has moderate disease but fail to respond to steroids within two weeks then should be admitted to hospital
- if a patient responds partially to treatment then should be seen urgently in the outpatient department and treated for refractory colitis
