Thermal tissue ablation (endoscopic)
There are many methods for endoscopic thermal ablation of neoplasms:
- BICAP
- Nd:YAG laser photocoagulation
- rollerball coagulation
The first two have been used extensively in the palliation or cure of oesophageal, gastric and colorectal lesions. The Nd:Yag laser has also been used to treat uterine leiomyoma and menorrhagia.
