Postoperative care
- if there has been an incision within the umbilicus then antibiotic ointment should be applied twice a day for 3-4 days.
- pressure dressings should be applied for 24-48 hours
- feeding is generally possible once the patient has recovered from the anesthetic
- the site of the incision is kept dry for 3 days
