Anxious and agitated patients tend to respond best to sedating drugs.
Sedating drugs may be divided into those with more or less marked anti-muscarinic effects:
- relatively strong anti-muscarinic effects:
- amitriptyline
- clomipramine
- relatively weak anti-muscarinic effects:
- doxepin
- mianserin
- trazodone
