Adjunctive treatment of focal seizures with or without secondary generalisation

The recommended adult dosing regimen is:

  • day 1: 300 mg once daily
  • day 2: 300 mg twice daily
  • day 3: 300 mg three times daily
  • thereafter titration according to clinical response up to a maximum dose of 2400 mg daily

A slower increase in the daily dose may reduce the incidence of unwanted effects.
