Features which must be taken into account in the pharmacokinetics of antibiotics include:-
- meningitis - penetration of antibiotics into CSF
- osteomyelitis - bone penetration, penicillin resistant organisms - linomycin, clindomycin, fusidic acid
- bile - ampicillin, amoxycillin, tetracycline
- infective endocarditis, high doses - valve tissue, vegetations
- UTI tissue and urine
