Corticosteroids for TB
The use of steroids may also be useful in the treatment of the following complications of tuberculosis:
- tuberculosis meningitis, when there is reduced conscious level
- intracerebral tuberculomata
- pleural and pericardial effusions
- ureteric obstruction
- for severe drug reactions
- in patients with Addison's disease
- in critically ill patients
