Radiological appearance of asthma
Features include:
- hyperinflation
- possible pneumothorax in status asthmaticus or acute asthma
- mucus plugs may cause focal or segmental atelactasis, and sometimes collapse of a lobe or lung
- transient infiltrates may be seen in association with eosinophilia
