Intramural fibroids
Intramural fibroids begin as small nodules in the myometrium. They generally enlarge the body of the uterus and cause distortion and elongation of the endometrial cavity. Clinically, they are associated with menorrhagia and metrorrhagia.
Many grow towards the endometrial cavity to become submucous myomas, or grow towards the serous surface to become subserous fibroids.
