The indications include:

  • nodulocystic acne
  • moderate acne - not responding to at least two courses of antibiotics for three months at an appropriate dosage (1)
  • patients whose acne causes scarring (2)
  • high sebum production
  • patients where the psychological effects of acne would be severe
