Hormonal control of the menstrual cycle
The menstrual cycle is under complex hormonal control, involving luteinizing hormone - LH - follicle-stimulating hormone - FSH - gonadotrophin releasing hormone - GnRH - oestrogens, androgens, progesterone and inhibin. There are feedbacks between ovary, anterior pituitary and hypothalamus.
