- myometrium:
- stimulates proliferation during ovarian cycle
- inhibits contraction during pregnancy
- endometrium:
- reversal of proliferation if exposure has been prolonged e.g. during latter half of ovarian cycle if no implantation has occurred - withdrawal triggers menstruation
- uterine cervical gland secretion is:
- increased in volume
- more viscid
- richer in glycogen
