Instrumentation
These include:
- laser lithotripsy - pulsed light of wavelength 504 nm may be transmitted to fragment ureteric calculi. All stones, except cystine stones, may be treated this way.
- lithoclast - compressed air drives an oscillating metal rod that repeatedly strikes the hub of the probe.
- Dormia basket - a wire basket threaded along the ureteroscope to retrieve stones or stone fragments.
