Malignancy:
- carcinomas of pancreas, prostate, lung and stomach
- acute promyelocytic leukaemia
Infections:
- gram negative infection
- meningococcal infection
- staphylococcus aureus
- malaria
- histoplasmosis
- aspergillosis
Obstetric complications:
- abruptio placentae
- amniotic fluid embolus
- retained placenta / dead foetus
- pre-eclampsia, eclampsia
- septic abortion
