This is an uncommon condition where bilobed neutrophils are found in the peripheral blood. There may be unsegmented neutrophils occasionally seen.

The Pelger-Huet anomaly may be:

  • congenital, inherited in an autosomal dominant manner
  • acquired, often in cases of myelodysplastic syndrome
