Indications for thrombolytic therapy
Indications now include:
- acute myocardial infarction
- peripheral arterial thrombosis
- unblocking catheters and shunts
- deep vein thrombosis
- pulmonary embolism
- aiding drainage of loculated pleural effusions
- on occasion, stroke
