Bactericidal antibiotics
Bactericidal is a term meaning destructive to bacteria - bactericidals actually kill bacteria (cf bacteriostatic).
Bactericidal agents include:
- penicillins
- cephalosporins
- aminoglycosides
They are particularly indicated when the host defences are poor.
