Treatment of candidiasis in men

Balanitis and balanoposthitis;

• the glans is cleaned thoroughly with saline. The glans is then bathed in saline 2-3 times daily for about 10 minutes
• after bathing the glans an antifungal cream is applied, e.g. nystatin cream, clotrimazole cream, miconazole cream
• oral fluconazole 150mg od for one day is an alternative to topical treatment

Urethritis;

• treatment options may include: nystatin suspension or amphotericin lotion.
