Malignant causes
Malignant causes include:
- hypernephroma
- lymphoma
- hepatoma
- atrial myxoma
- leukaemia and pre-leukaemia
- liver or CNS metastases
- carcinoma of the pancreas
- tumours of the anterior hypothalamus
Note that these are likely to cause a PUO lasting more than two or three weeks.
