Treatment recommendations are largely based on case reports and uncontrolled studies. Specific agents evaluated include 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA), prednisolone, immunomodulators, bismuth, probiotics and Boswellia extract (1).

A review suggests treatment is with oral budesonide 9 mg/day for an initial period of 6–8 weeks (2)
