Picornaviruses

Picornaviruses are single stranded RNA viruses without an envelope, and with cubic symmetry, ranging from 20 to 30 nm which include:

  • enteroviruses
  • rhinoviruses

The name derives from the size of the viruses - literally they are picoRNAviruses.
