The International Labour Office categorises this condition based on the size of the shadowing produced by these masses on chest radiograph.

A : diameter of opacities greater than 1 cm but less than 5 cm

B : opacities with diameter greater than 5 cm but occupying less than a third of right lung field area

C : opacities with diameter greater than 5 cm and occupying more than a third of right lung field area
