Dropped finger is associated with rheumatoid arthritis. Chronic inflammation of the extensor tendon sheaths leads to damage to, and ultimately breaking of, the extensor tendon(s) commonly at the wrist. A 'dropped finger', which cannot be actively extended, is the result.
