Deformity of the cervical spine is unusual.

Characteristic features may be seen in:

  • cervical spondylosis
  • Klippel-Feil syndrome - congenital short webbed neck with a low hair line
  • acute torticollis

Instability of the cervical spine may easily be missed in a supine patient. Check that the patient can easily support their head.
